NOTICE TO COMPETITORS
INSTRUMENTAL
On Thursday 9 May 2024 when Instrumental competition at this year’s Eisteddfod will be conducted
in the Pilbeam Theatre the Eisteddfod Association has arranged for the rooms in the former Art
Gallery building adjacent to the Theatre to be opened for the purpose of providing storage space for
instrument cases and equipment. Schools may also use these spaces to organize groups prior to
entering through the Green Room door and moving to the stage.
DANCE
ADJUDICATOR
Ms Amanda Jane Pearson has informed the Eisteddfod Association that she is no longer available to
adjudicate the Dance Section of the 2024 Eisteddfod. She will be replaced by Ms Maryan Pass from
the Sunshine Coast
MUSIC UPLOADS
• It is anticipated that the final program for the 2024 Eisteddfod will become available in the
coming days.
• Once it is available it will be forwarded to the staff of Music Uploads who will proceed to upload it
onto their system – this may take a few days.
• Once the program is accessible through Music Uploads competitors will be able to upload their
music for the 2024 competition, noting that to do so requires you to have a current Music
Uploads account. It should also be noted that music used in previous competitions can be
transferred to the Rockhampton Eisteddfod space on Music Uploads if it is still current.
• Competitors are requested to use the Music Uploads ‘Notes’ facility to add any other details
relevant to their performance. For example, the title of Demi-character routines, the name of a
National Dance, and, for teachers, the use of the house curtain before and after the GROUP
performance e.g. ‘Starts with curtain up’; ‘Finishes off-stage’ etc – this is of help to Theatre
technical staff who are totally responsible for the raising and lowering of the house curtain
• NOTE THAT THE ROCKHAMPTON EISTEDDFOD ASSOCIATION TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR
THE ACCURACY AND CORRECTNESS OF MUSIC UPLOADED ON MUSIC UPLOADS. CHECKING
THAT MUSIC IS CORRECTLY UPLOADED IS ENTIRELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMPETITOR
AND IT IS EXPECTED THAT COMPETITORS WILL CHECK THEIR MUSIC IN ADVANCE OF THE
ADVERTISED CUT-OFF DATE FOR UPLOADING
GROUPS WEEKEND
On the weekend of 18-19 May when all group sections will be conducted, the Eisteddfod Association
has arranged for the rooms in the former Art Gallery building adjacent to the Theatre to be available
as additional dressing room space. In advance of the Groups Weekend spaces will be allocated to
competing schools/academies and notices will be placed in the Theatre providing this information to
competitors
VOLUNTEER HELPERS
As in previous years, it is requested that each school provide the names and contact details of at
least TWO parents/carers who are willing to assist throughout the six sessions of the Groups
Weekend to marshal groups side stage before their performance and to move group members from
the stage following the performance, ensuring that two group members remain for results to be
announced. Please forward volunteer contact details to Les Killion at l.killion@bigpond.com
